Wow! The fish just melts. And the warm rice is a nice change of pace from standard sushi. Fantastic spot, and be prepared to be amazed.

I sent my friends to this place with my highest recommendations. I go their often. This recommendation is always successful. The meals are fantastic and the stuff is very friendly and cooperative. Whenever we eat in this place we have a delightful evening. highly recommended.

Best hot chicken sandwich for the price.It's definitely a Howlin Rays competitor without the Howlin Ray line and price. Their combo with 2 sandwiches and fries was very generous and it was all for only $13.Their "kaleslaw" is surprisingly very well made. The fries are also seasoned and are delicious. The atmosphere also has that rap/pop feel which feels very welcoming.Overall, I can see myself coming back to this place more often.

We love this place. The staff is very friendly and they care about the customers. Everything is delicious but we almost always get the crunchy tacos. The fresh guacamole is fuego! It is a well ran restaurant and the quality of the food is always on point.

As a Vancouverite and recently relocated to SF, I constantly brag about how good sushi is in YVR. After trying the sushi here, I was put to shame. Hands down best sushi this side of the Pacific Ocean. The flood of sea salt and imagery of the ocean goes into every bite they had on offer. This was FRESH.I do recommend trying the option where the chef picks out what you get: always a nice mystery!

Wonderful service, great food, and a dodgers win got the whole place cheering. We were welcomed "home" on our first visit there. The carnitas plate and open face enchilada with fried egg were both delicious. We'll be back!

Absolutely amazing. The most legit sushi I personally had. Everything literally melted in my mouth. It's hard to complain about price when it tasted this good. Definitely recommend it!

Good sushi at quite affordable prices. My friend and I got the nozawa trust me, which includes the daily special. The sushi was served at optimal times and spaced out well enough for us to enjoy conversation and sushi at the same time. It was enough food that we both left full and satisfied!The staff were great and super friendly! One waitress knew we were visiting and took the time to talk to us to about what we wanted to do and gave us a list of cool places in the area.

Absolutely no lie when I say- BEST sushi I’ve had in the US. Super super fresh. Most importantly, they educate people on sustainability. The menu is tiny and there aren’t a million confusing options. Ambiance is fantastic for a small group of friends for an evening meal. Prices aren’t too high- $22 for a meal that filled me up! Love this place and I’ll be returning!

Decent Korean food for the local area. I love their combos which have tofu soup. I usually order the mushroom soup medium spicy, which is delicious. I would try ordering it with less tofu next time though because they overdo it. If you eat in, definitely get the rice in a hot stone because it has a crispiness to it.

While the host was super efficient (even with our 45min wait) and our waiter was super good, the food was everything but great. I tried sugarfish in other spots and I don’t remember it that bad. The rice was so hot it felt like it was out of the cooking pan. On sushi, as Japanese master teach us, the sushi rice must be at body temperature so we can fully enjoy the taste of the fish. The rice also kept falling apart. The soy sauce was extremely salty, making the pieces that we were supposed to dip on it extremely salty. Some pieces even had too much soy on it. I would definitely not go back to this location as I felt it was more hype than actual taste. Really disappointed

Given the 4.5 rating, atmosphere, and wait time, I was expecting better. The fish was good, but everything else left me wanting more...or less. The hand rolls seemed to skimp on the fish, while the sauced nigiri could have used less sauce (and preferably no sauce on the rice). The scallop special sounded good, but the flavor of the scallop was masked by an overpowering sauce, and the rice was very loose on all the pieces. Will be heading to Little Toyko for my next sushi craving...

I was very happy with the sushi and service. The fish was fresh and very tasty. The texture of each piece was perfect and I really liked the warm rice which we dont get back home. The service was great and attentive without nagging. I would happily come back here for more!

Great sushi spot ...they do not take reservations so you are almost guaranteed to wait...and the food is worth the wait. The warm rice with the sushi makes the food extra delicious.

Amazing sushi with great service. Keep it simple with one or the “Trust Me” options (I go for the Nozawa.) It gets busy some come early or be prepared to wait. You can always put your name on the list and head a few doors down to Seven Grand for a glass of whiskey.

This is a pleasant place to eat, but not an authentic sushi like Japan. There are other places in Los Angeles where you can have a great sushi experience for less price and less attitude. Sushi is old tradition so please don't try to re invent the wheel.

Was very impressed by the food. Tasty and could tell it was fresh. Also there were items not going round the conveyor belt that we particularly wanted, so when asked they made it up for us especially :) Really friendly and helpful staff.

This restaurant offers not only good and best-tasting food but also the best ambiance than any other restaurant in the area. They had a dining area outside where you can eat and dine under the trees. We ordered a lamb and vegetable platter when we've been here last year, and it was undeniably delicious! We had so much fun! The best Ethiopian restaurant in the city!

Good fresh sushi to go in beautiful boxes. I like how they have pictures and recommendations on sauces and condiments to use with each piece. Little bit on the pricey side. I'll probably order again.

What an Amazing Spicy Chicken Sandwich!!! OMGThe sauce was incredibly Tasty which made the Sandwich unique! The Fries were spiced wonderfully.The surprise is THE GRAVY!! It's this original light colored Gravy that you Dip the Fries in... WHOA!! Make SURE YOU ORDER SOME! I have never tasted such a combo.. I wanted more as soon as I finished them.. I will be Back!

I expected more from a restaurant with Sugarfish's reputation and price point, even in downtown LA.The quality and freshness of the fish was just above average but the dining experience was poor.Half the sushi pieces had a pozu sauce making them all seem to taste the same. Servers were so quick to clear tables that they were rushing us to finish our plates.The one highlight was the uni sushi wish was very fresh and tasty.Sugarfish's menu describes their interest in offering a quality quality sushi experiences; I hope they do more to achieve that goal.

Ok sushi place. Very modern and hip. Came here at 3pm and it was really crowded. Definitely not a fan of the rice. If you’re used to traditional short grain sushi rice that taste like heaven, this is not the place for you. The rice is warm, which is actually nice. A good contrast to the cold fish. But the rice doesn’t taste good - there weren’t enough vinegar / seasoning / whatever they use to make sushi rice. If you like a fancy place with fish that is decently fresh. You should check this place out.

Very solid sushi in DTLA and reasonably priced. Dishes came out pretty quickly. Fish was fresh and the rice was well seasoned. Plenty of room inside, although the room was a little close.

Hands down the best Sushi i have ever had! Definitely the most expensive ive ever had too, but totally worth it. I will definitely be back. Our server Alex was great too

Surprised at how good the place and sushi is. I guess it surprises me because there's so many sugarfish locations that I thought the for the quality of the sushi would be jeopardized. Would recommend others to try!

This restaurant is the one I always prefer. I eat in plenty of restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The team is very amicable and the food they cook is so yummy. I would always prefer to have a decent dinner in this place. Highly recommended.

For the combination of value and quality, nothing beats Sugarfish. Easily a go to place for high quality sushi without the fuss of making a decision. The "Trust Me" set menu is just perfect and forces you to slow down and take your time with the meal. I've been to three of the different locations and each one provides a consistent experience. This downtown location is quite nice and there is parking just south of the restaurant.

This is an upscale sushi restaurant. I'm the type that normally goes to AYCE places since I like a lot of food. I found this place to be very good. Everything is very fresh. Their rice is the best I've ever had. The servers are very good at explaining the menu items. This is a great place to take a date.

Everything was amazing!!!The food- the food was amazing. This place isn't too fancy, but the food is still awesome. The outside was welcoming, and I won't forget to mention the amazing waitresses- they were incredibly nice!!! They were welcoming, smiled, and didn't give me sarcasm and act like I owed them something, like other waiters and waitresses I know. The dessert was something I've never tasted before , and I haven't had such a good meal in a long time. The food was very filling, and I have no complaints.

I happen to stumble onto this place. Small and parking in Culver City is always tricky. Either way, I am glad I found it. I got the bowl with the chicken on a bed of greens and Tabbouleh. There was so much food. I ate 99% of it. The chicken was well seasoned and not dry. I got the cauliflower side and beets salad. So delicious. I am still thinking about the cauliflower with some sort of garlic sauce. Just go and try it. It's really delicious.

My favorite sushi place. My family and I enjoy the locations Downtown, in Marina Del Rey, and Manhattan Beach. Consistently excellent. No reservations and often a wait, so we go at less popular times.

It's a good sushi place with good options and a excellent service. I just didn't like how plates were presented. Other than that is worth a visit.

Simply great simple sushi. The experience was just awesome. Warm rice, fresh fish, amazing flavors. We had to wait about 40 minutes for a table but it was worth it. If you like sushi then the Trust Me is great because you get to sample all of the chosen sushi.

I'll be giving my "5" stars all the way to this restaurant's services and delicious foods. Highly recommended for both meetings and friends as well for having an excellent atmosphere. They never fail me on my high expectations. Everything that day went very well for me. I will surely come back! Thank you so much to all of you.
